Louis of Cyprus

Louis of Savoy, also called Louis the Younger (* June 5, 1436; † August 1482 ) was Count of Geneva and King of Cyprus ( 1459-1460 ). He was son of Duke Ludwig the Elder of Savoy and Anne of Lusignan from the family of Cypriot Ramnulfiden

He married in 1459 Charlotte of Lusignan, Queen of Cyprus, daughter of King John II Palaiologos and Helene, who had in 1458 become the successor of her father.

1460 called Jacob, the Archbishop of Nicosia, illegitimate son of John II, the throne for himself and blocked Charlotte and Louis for three years in the castle of Kyrenia. As the couple fled to Rome in 1463, Jacob was crowned king.
