Louis Ralph
Ralph Louis (actually Ludwig Music; born August 17, 1878 in Graz, † September 16, 1952 in Berlin) was an Austrian actor and film director.
Life
The son of a bricklayer graduated 15 - year training as an actor and appeared in 1894 as " Ludwig Musique " in various lubrication theaters, including 1896 in honor Hausen and 1897 in Hartberg. He received his first engagement at the Stadttheater of Reichenberg.
With the troupe Franz Jauners he made before the turn of the century a tour of Russia. With an English ensemble he arrived a little later to India, Japan and China. In 1909 he was on the side of Hansi Niese the first time a guest in Berlin, and already one years later, he acted again in Berlin as the main character of the Viennese art theater.
He went to an engagement at Victor Barnowskys 's Small Theatre and came in 1911 to his first film insert in The strange bird, where he had Asta Nielsen to partner. Ralph was a well-known performer in the field of adventure and detective film, especially in a film series at the crime lord Lepain which he himself directed.
Throughout the 20s he was gradually only minor roles. As a director, he transfigured, 1926 in Emden Our fate of the German cruiser Emden. Ralph was in this movie also starred in the role of Captain Karl von Müller.
