Louis Rossel
Louis Nathaniel Rossel ( born September 9, 1844 in Saint- Brieuc, † November 28, 1871 in Satory ) was a French politician and officer. He was the only officer in the French army, who in 1871 joined the Paris Commune.
Rossel was born into a Republican family of the bourgeoisie of Nîmes; his mother was Scottish. Because of its role in the uprising of the Paris Commune in 1871, he was executed a few months after the defeat.
