Louise de Marillac

Louise de Marillac ( Louise de Marillac ) ( born August 12, 1591 in Paris, † March 15, 1660 ibid ) was foundress and is venerated in the Roman Catholic Church as a saint.

Louise de Marillac was born the illegitimate daughter of Louis de Marillac nobles in Paris and grew up as an orphan. 1613, at age 22, she married Antoine Le Gras 1614 and gave birth to a son. After her husband's death in 1625 Louise de Marillac St. Vincent de Paul learned to know and took in 1633 in her home some young peasant girl on. This community was the foundation of the Congregation of the " Daughters of Charity " ( Vincentians ), which she founded in Paris with Vincent de Paul. Until her death, Louise de Marillac led the mother house in Paris. Their remains rest in the Chapel of the Apparitions in the mother's house in the Rue du Bac, Paris.

1920 Louise de Marillac was beatified in 1934 and canonized. In 1960, she was called by Pope John XXIII. raised to the saint of social work professionals. Your Memorial Day in the liturgy is March 15.
