History

LP was founded in 1973 as a result of a court decision finding that the monopoly of the company Georgia-Pacific has been broken. During the first 22 years of President Harry Merlo was president of LP.

In the 90 years of the 20th century LP acquired the company ABTco in the eastern United States and the Company Forex from Canada.
