Louisiana Pacific

The Louisiana - Pacific Corporation, known by the abbreviation LP, is a manufacturer of building materials from the United States. The company is listed on the S & P 500. The company was founded in 1973 in Nashville, Tennessee. The company employs approximately 7,100 employees (as of 2003).

From 1973 to 2004, the company's headquarters in Portland, Oregon. 2004, the headquarters was to Nashville, Tennessee, relocated. The company has the naming rights to the LP Field, the stage of the Tennessee Titans and the Football Association of Tennessee State University in Nashville. Its products include oriented strand board, wood ceilings, wood paneling, and similar product segments.

History

LP was founded in 1973 as a result of a court decision finding that the monopoly of the company Georgia-Pacific has been broken. During the first 22 years of President Harry Merlo was president of LP.

In the 90 years of the 20th century LP acquired the company ABTco in the eastern United States and the Company Forex from Canada.
