Louisville Panthers
The Louisville Panthers were an American ice hockey franchise in the American Hockey League in Louisville, Kentucky. Home of the Panthers was the Freedom Hall.
History
The Louisville Panthers were founded in 1999 as the farm team of the Florida Panthers from the National Hockey League. At the end of the AHL season 2000/ 01, the Panthers were inactive to the team in 2005 as Iowa Stars - standing in cooperation with the Dallas Stars - resumed the operation of gambling in the AHL. In the premiere of season 1999/2000 the team reached at least the first round of the playoffs to the Calder Cup, in which one but with the 1:3 Kentucky Thoroughblades defeated in four games. The following season, the Panthers did not reach the playoffs and missed with 50 points in the regular season significantly the previous mark of 92 points.
