Lourdes Flores

Lourdes Flores Nano Celmira ( born October 7, 1959 in Lima) is a Peruvian lawyer and politician.

At 18, she joined the Christian Democratic Popular Party Cristiano (PPC, Christian People's Party ), whose chairman is today. Flores studied from 1977 to 1982 Law at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú in Lima. From 1983 to 1984 she studied at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. There she received her degree as a master en asesoria juridica de empresas (business consulting in legal matters ). Between 1984 and 1989 she was a lecturer both at the Pontificia Católica del Perú, as well as at the Universidad de Lima.

Since 1990 she is a Member of the Peruvian Congress.

In the presidential election on 9 April 2006 she was a candidate for the center-right coalition National Unity ( Unidad Nacional) for the succession of Alejandro Toledo. However, they could not prevail and only came in third place.
