Lourival Assis

Lourival Assis Rodrigues Filho, called Lourival Assis, or only Assis (born 3 February 1984 in Nova Viçosa, Brazil ) is a Brazilian football player who joined the Azerbaijani first division club FK Qəbələ to the beginning of the season 2011/12.

Career

Assis played for the Brazilian Iraty Sports Clubâ and São Caetano ( SP), before he first came to Europe in spring 2009. The Swedish club Kalmar FF borrowed him from February 2009 until 31 July of the year with an option for extension of São Caetano from. His stay with the reigning Swedish champions, in which he wore the jersey number " 35", however, was overshadowed by injuries. In the Allsvenskan, the midfielder therefore ran in only seven games. However, the stay was not without success, when Supercupen before the season opener, he was on winning the title with a 1-0 win over IFK Gothenburg.

Assis returned after the expiry of his loan contract to Brazil, where he stood at Avaí FC in the Série A under contract. He then played one year for the second division América FC before the beginning of 2011 Botafogo FC joined for the state championship in São Paulo. He then played for Chapecoense in the Série C. In the same year he returned to Europe and signed a contract with the Bulgarian club Chernomorets Burgas FC. In Bulgaria he could secure one bursts in the starting eleven and has become one of the major players in the season 2011 /12. With the club he was fourth in just missed to participate in the UEFA Europa League. Because of missed participation and financial difficulties selling the FC Chernomorets Burgas Assis, who signed a two-year contract with Azerbaijan's FK Qəbələ in the summer of 2013.
