Love County, Oklahoma

Love County is a county located in the state of Oklahoma in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Marietta.

Geography

The County is located in southern Oklahoma, bordering Texas and has an area of ​​1378 square kilometers, of which 43 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Carter County, Marshall County, Coke County ( Texas), Montague County ( Texas) and Jefferson County.

History

Love County was formed on 16 July 1907 as original county of Chickasaw country. It was named after Overton Love, a judge of the Chickasaw.
