Loves of a Blonde is a Czechoslovakian film directed by Miloš Forman from the year 1965. With this film, the director established his international reputation.

Action

In a dormitory for young workers, which is part of a large factory, reports about 17 -year-old Andula a friend of her experiences: Actually Andula was close friends with a boy her age, but then she goes short time with a forester and eventually they can persuaded by the young pianist Milda in a dance club to spend the night with him. As Andula little later has an altercation with her boyfriend, she packs her suitcase and travels just decided to hitchhike to Prague, where they will seek Milda in his apartment. There, however, she meets only his parents. Because these previously knew nothing of their existence, they try to elicit details from her, but they may not succeed. Finally, they allow Andula to stay with them. As Milda comes home towards morning from his latest conquest, there is a violent family quarrel. First he wants the girl did not know, and then he denies to have invited them. In the parents' bedroom the noise continues. Andula - in tears - returns to work.

Loves of a Blonde premiered in 1965 as part of the competition at the International Film Festival of Venice, but remained unprämiert. 1967 followed nominations for the Golden Globe Award and Oscar respectively in the category of best foreign language film and winning the Danish Bodil Film Awards (Category: Best European film) and the Finnish Jussi ( Best Foreign Director - as well as for Forman's Black Peter ).
