Loves Park is a city in Winnebago County in the north of the U.S. state of Illinois. The city has now grown beyond Countygrenze, so that a part of the city today is in Boone County. In 2000, Loves Park had 20,044 inhabitants; by 2009, their number has increased to 24,464. Loves Park is part of the metropolitan area of Rockford.
Geography
Loves Park is located on the east bank of the Rock River, south of Machesney Park 42 ° 19'34 " north latitude and 89 ° 01'33 " west longitude. The city covers 37.89 km ², spread over 36.86 km ² land and 1.03 km ² water surface.
Through the center of Loves Park runs leading to the north of Rockford Illinois State Route 151 and parallel to a railway line.
Loves Park is a suburb of Rockford, the city center 7.7 km south-southeast of the Rock River is down. Surrounding cities are Chicago (138 km south-east ), the Quad Cities (187 km southwest), Wisconsin's capital, Madison (104 km north) and Milwaukee (143 km northeast).
Demographic data
In the official census in 2000 a population of 20,044 was determined. These distributed to 8,144 households in 5,399 families. The population density was 529.0 inhabitants per square kilometer.
