Lower Barrakka Gardens

The Lower Barrakka Gardens ( Il- Barrakka t'Isfel ) are a park in Valletta, capital of Malta. You are on the St. Christopher's Bastion, which in turn is a part of the fortifications of Valletta. The garden was created by French troops during the siege of Valletta by the insurgent population of Malta from 1798 to 1800. He probably was originally used for the production of vegetables and field crops for the cut garrison.

In the Gardens a monument was founded in 1810 in memory of Alexander ball up in the form of a classical temple. Other monuments recall the time of the second great siege of Malta. The park is occasionally used for concerts and festival events. As a historical landmark and one of the few green spaces in the city of Valletta he obtained under monument nursing point of view.
