In the 19th century, his great-niece took over ( great-grandniece ) Anna Maggauer the group and got 1845 in Budapest to a Hungarian theater family belonging to Paul Lowinger (19th century) know. The two married, Anna and part of her ensemble joined the Löwingern to. As of 1856 took Anna and Paul the line ( playbills documenting that they founded the Löwinger stage in 1856 and until 1912 the line occupied ), from 1865 she worked mainly in Austria. Their sons Joseph Löwinger ( born 2 May 1870 in Himberg, † 1919) and Ferdinand Löwinger continued the theater dynasty.

Josef Löwinger married in 1897 Cäcillie Weber (born 30 December 1877 in Poneggen, † 1949), which appeared on stage, in film and business ( operating guide) as Cilli Löwinger. Their children Charles ( he died at a young age ), Heinz (ca. 1897-1935 ), Paul ( born November 10, 1904, † 17 December 1988) and Margaret, called Gretl / Gretel ( born December 3, 1919 † 21 July. , 1973), continued the family tradition. Ferdinand left the troupe in 1912. During the First World War, the props were lost, so that the post-1918 again Formative group which had hitherto shown any form of theater, now focused on the peasant theater forms in the stage easy to be established.

1922 Sepp Maier grave joined the troupe. He worked as an actor, carpenters and drivers for the company and received from Cilli artist name Pepi Löwinger, later assigned Sepp Löwinger. Since Cilli husband Joseph was called, Sepp was often mistaken for Paul's father or older brother or a distant relative.

1935 joined the family in the film, the two Stoffl. 1938 in Berlin listed play the Löwinger stage was aired on television as part of a trial run.

Paul Lowinger (1904-1988) married in 1938 Liesl Meinhardt ( 1918-1980 ). Their daughter Guggi ( born 1939 ) was operetta singer, the other children, Sissy ( 1941-2011 ) and Paul Jr. ( 1949-2009 ) played and staged on the stage. Under Paul's leadership, the stage was finally settled in Vienna. Around 1950, ran in Austria the two films The chaste Adam and Valentine fall (1951 ) with performances of several family members very successful. However, the domain of Löwingers remained the stage, the records of their stage performances achieved in the Austrian and German television long ranges.

The ORF demanded in the seventies mainly by comedies, composed by Paul Lowinger. Liesl Löwinger retired in 1969 from the theatrical event and was back up to her death (1980 ) only for her family there. Gretl died 1973. Starting in 1973, dominated Paul, Sissy, Paul Jr. and Sepp in the Löwinger stage.

In 1996 some records in the ORF were broadcast again. Despite the high ratings the Löwinger - stage was virtually stopped by the ORF responsible from 1996 into the program. Only Paul Lowinger is relatively common to see in the third international programs and the ORF in supporting roles in earlier movies.

The statement ... because it's all about how on the Löwingerbühne ' is a typical Austrian idiom, which aims at the seemingly trivial level, a phrase that is found in this sense in the Austrian Parliament debates:

(...) I also want to replicate to my colleague beer Inger, who said that my colleague tickler behaving as if it would occur on the Löwinger stage. Even this remark, I can not approve, because on the Löwinger stage none of us at home, no leads so on! We all represent different points of view, each in his own way, but that gives no one the right to designate the other as the Löwinger stage belonging. (Applause from the ...) Quotes of the Löwinger

Sissy: "We were in Vienna only stage without any subsidy. The father has very offended that no one helped him. (...) Many have done so, as they would be the Löwinger stage for less. However, in direct conversation they have all admitted that they watch on TV the Löwinger stage, university professors, doctors and businessmen. "(From NÖN online)

Sissy: I was a disgrace. My uncle played the Rubezahl - and I have just not recognized him and stared with open mouth, instead of something to say -. Till you grabbed me by the neck and dragged off the stage "(from NÖN online)

Paul: I 'm no angry if he does not like our kind. I may also not be, because no accounting for taste is debatable known. But even my enemies should know that I always want only the best. That I do not always do everything right, is understandable, because who can do that? And if do not want me someone, he can turn off his TV. (From: Renate Wagner: The Löwinger stage ).
