LSE German Society

The LSE SU German Society is a student organization at the London School of Economics and Political Science, London. With 500 annual members it is one of the largest student organizations outside of Germany and one of the most representative national student organizations of the United Kingdom. The German Society is committed to the interest in German culture, politics, language and economy. It also organizes cultural and social events such as the annual Oktoberfest in London. The Association meets regularly with the student unions at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge and maintains a collaboration with the German Embassy in London.

German symposium

The German symposium, a lecture series of about 20 lectures will be organized for 13 years now by the German Society on the campus of the London School of Economics and has in recent years, renowned German personalities from culture ( Charlotte Knobloch, Berthold Kohler, Robert Zollitsch ), politics ( Angela Merkel, Gerhard Schröder, Wolfgang Schäuble, Peer Steinbrueck ) Sports ( Jens Lehmann) and economy (Alexander Dibelius, Juergen Grossmann, August Oetker ) tightened.
