Lu Haotian

Lu Haotian (sometimes: Lyu Haotian, Chinese吕 昊天, Pinyin Lǚ Haotian, born 29 November 1997) is a Chinese snooker player.

Career

Lu is one of the most promising snooker talent in China and took first in the 2011/12 season as a wildcard player to Main Tour tournaments. Although he lost his opening games at the Haikou World Open 2012 ( 4:5 against Tom Ford) and at the China Open 2012 ( 2:5 against former world champion Peter Ebdon ), but he won in July 2012 at the age of 14 years, the IBSF Under-21 Snooker world Cup by a 9-6 win over his compatriot Zhu Yinghui. He is the youngest winner in the history of the tournament. He also received by winning a Main Tour ticket for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 snooker season.

In the 2012/13 season he was again invited to Chinese Main Tour tournaments as a local wildcard player and won the Shanghai Masters 2012 his opening match against Marco Fu 5-4. In the International Championship in 2012, he moved with victories over Michael White in the Wildcard round and Dominic Dale in the last sixteen even the quarterfinals. However, he benefited in the first round of the absence of his opponent Ronnie O'Sullivan and the resulting bye. In the quarterfinals, he finally succumbed to the eventual finalists Neil Robertson with 2:6.
