Lu Yong

Lu Yong (Chinese陆 永, Pinyin Lù Yǒng, born January 1, 1986 in Liuzhou, Guangxi, China) is a Chinese weightlifter. He was Olympic champion in 2008 and 2009 world champion in the light heavyweight division to 85 kg.

Career

Lu Yong began as a teenager with weight lifting. He made rapid progress in such a way that it has already been used at the age of 19 years at the 2005 World Championships in Doha. At a size of 1.72 meters, he started doing in the light heavyweight division, the weight category to 85 kg body weight. In Doha, he surprised the weightlifting world with a superb duel output of 385 kg ( 175-210 ), with whom he came in 2nd place behind another " prodigy " the weightlifting scene, Ilya Ilyin from Kazakhstan.
