Luc Delahaye

Luc Delahaye (born 1962 in Tours, France) is a French photographer. Since 1989 Delahaye worked as a war photographer. Some years he was a member of the Magnum photo agency. In its publication " History" (2003) he published photographs documenting his renunciation of photojournalism. It moves in the same subject area as before - the crises of our time in the Middle East, Palestine and Eastern Europe. Now, however, he creates a few large-scale tableaux that take a concise historical situation in the tradition of history painting. His aesthetic remains the means of photojournalism committed. The individual receiving leads but starting from the described moment, to an understanding of its historical significance.
