Luc Hoffmann

Lukas ' Luc ' Hoffmann (born 23 January 1923 in Basel ) is a Swiss patron and entrepreneur.

Family and Life

Luc Hoffmann's grandfather Fritz Hoffmann -La Roche was the founder of the company Hoffmann -La Roche. His father was the producer Emanuel " Manno " Hoffmann ( 1896-1932 ). His mother, his wife, the sculptor Maja born Stehlin ( 1896-1989 ). His sister is Vera Oeri -Hoffmann, wife of Jacob Oeri -Hoffmann.

Hoffmann studied zoology in Basel. In 1954 he built a research station on the Camargue. He is a founding member of the WWF and was until 1988 Vice- President of the WWF. Hoffmann was awarded several honorary doctorates and is the author of over 60 - mostly ornithological - books.

Hoffmann is married since 1953 with Daria Razumovsky (* 1925).
