Luca Amato

Luca Amato (actually Jean -Luca Amato; * August 24, 1996 in Cologne) is a German motorcycle racer.

Career

2004 and 2005 drove Amato Motocross race. In 2006 he switched to minibikes. In 2007 and 2008 he became a master in the ADAC Mini Bike Cup. 2009 was followed by a third place overall in the ADAC Junior Cup.

German Championship

Amato in 2010 competed in the International German Motorcycle Championship. For the Racing Team Germany he took on an Aprilia RS 125 with eight races held a pole position, a win and a second place. At season's end Amato had 67 points and ranked eleventh in the championship. In 2011 he went for RZT Racing at the start. On his Aprilia RS 125, he won three races, finished second once and third once. In the end he was behind the Australian Jack Miller one point behind runner-up. This year, he received the title ADAC Junior Racer of the Year 2011.

Spanish Motorcycle Road Championship

2011 Amato denied two races at the Spanish motorcycle road championship. In 2012, he was behind Alex Márquez runner-up.

World Motorcycle Championship

At the same time Amato came in 2012 for the first time in the Moto3 class. However, in his five appearances he could retract any points. 2013 Amato went for the team Ambrogio Racing at the start.
