Luca Guadagnino

Luca Guadagnino (born 1971 in Palermo ) is an Italian film director.

Guadagnini, son of an Algerian woman and an Italian, a few years grew up in Ethiopia. He attended the University La Sapienza in Rome and finished it with a thesis on Jonathan Demme. After two short films he laid in 1999 with The Protagonist his feature film debut, which was released in theaters in just a few copies. His breakthrough came in 2005, achieved with the film adaptation of a novel by Melissa Panarello, Melissa P.. Io sono l' amore The following, again with Tilda Swinton was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2009. 2011 staged Guadagnino for a British production company a romance with mafia references, Corsica '72.
