Lucas Horenbout

Lucas Horenbout ( also called: Lucas Horne Bolte; * 1490-1495 in Ghent, † 1544 in London) was a Flemish miniaturist.

Horenbout went into the workshop of his father Gerard Horenbout, as well as his brothers, in the painter's apprenticeship. After the emigration of his father from 1522 to 1525 - the exact date is unknown - the family lived Horenbout in England and was soon appointed to the royal court. 1531 Lucas Horenbout of Henry VIII has been provided with jobs, in 1534 he obtained a permanent position at the English court. There is no still got work of art that Horenbout can be clearly assigned.

Lucas had Horenbout Hans Holbein D. J. in the painter's apprenticeship, one of the most important painters of the later Renaissance.
