Lucas Neill

Lucas Neill (born 9 March 1978 in Sydney ) is an Australian football player. He is currently the English second division side FC Watford under contract.

Career

As a teenager, played Neill at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra. In 1995 he went to FC Millwall to England. From Millwall, he moved in 2001 to the Blackburn Rovers. The Australian plays in the position of right-back. He moved in January 2007 to West Ham United and immediately sat down by the regulars. Not only is he the playmaker of the defense chain but also captain of the English Premier League club West Ham. In September 2009, he signed a one year contract at Everton.

Lucas Neill changed on 14 January 2010 for a transfer fee of £ 750,000 ( € 840,000 ) to the Turkish tradition club Galatasaray. His contract ran there until 30 June 2011 and was not renewed. His first goal for the red-yellow he marked 11 April 2010 in the league game against Diyarbakirspor.

As a freelance player he signed in August 2011 a contract with first division side Al Arab - Jazira Club.

In the winter of 2012, he joined the Australian A-League club Sydney FC and moved to the 2012/13 season to Japan, where he joined Omiya Ardija.

National

Neill has played 96 times in the Australian national football team and is captain of the team since 2007. On June 11, 2013, he scored the 4-0 in World Cup qualifier against Jordan his first international goal.
