Lucas Ordóñez

Lucas Ordoñez Martín - Esperanza (born 1 May 1985 in Madrid ) is a Spanish racing driver. He will start in 2012 in the European Le Mans Series.

Career

Ordóñez began his motorsport career in karting. However, he had to quit due to lack of budget, the karting career in 2001 at the age of 16 years. He then devoted himself to his studies. In 2008 he took part in the GT Academy, a competition between Sony and Nissan, which fought out virtual auto racing on the PlayStation and the price promised to participate in a real car race. Ordoñez sat down with a new participant to 25,000 candidates and got a "real" race seat at the 24 - hour race in Dubai 2009. This included former Formula 1 driver Johnny Herbert was his team mate. He then went to two seasons in the GT4 European Cup. On the first weekend, he scored a podium placement. The first season he finished with his teammate Alex Buncombe in second place in the championship. The two won two races. 2010 debuted Ordoñez also at Le Mans prototypes.
