Lucas van Uden

Lucas van Uden ( born October 18, 1595 Antwerp, † November 4, 1672 ) was a Dutch painter and etcher.

Lucas van Uden was a pupil of his father and entered 1627 in a Guild of St. Luke. It is preferably characterized became known that he painted landscapes for the Younger Rubens and David Teniers, who provided those with figures.

But he also has numerous independent landscapes painted motifs from Brabant and Flanders, whose peculiarity is based in a simple and faithful interpretation. Under Rubens influence its color became warmer and richer. Landscapes by him have the galleries of Dresden, St. Petersburg, Brussels, Frankfurt, Munich, Antwerp, Berlin, Vienna, etc. In its landscape etchings ( 30 ) are performed with very fine nature observation and delicate needle.
