Lucas Vidal

Lucas Vidal ( born 1984 in Madrid, Spain ) is a Spanish composer.

Life

Lucas Vidal grew up in Madrid, where he already learned piano at age four and at the age of nine years began works of Johann Sebastian Bach to improvise. Therefore, his parents sent him in a youth orchestra, where he was to improve his skills. There got to the know the son of the Spanish musician Paco de Lucía, who, however, always wanted him to inspire amateur films. Initially, Vidal reluctant nor against, because he had no interest to engage neither as an actor nor ever take part in the film because he much rather busied himself with his music. It was only later he realized that one could combine film music with the medium.

After Vidal's uncle attended a music seminar at Berklee College of Music, and returned to Spain, he told the 15 -year-old Lucas thereof, which appeared absolutely excited about the possibilities, so that he in the following two years, respectively, a five-week summer program visited to train his musical abilities. He made ​​such a good impression that he received a scholarship after the second year. This he used to study at Berklee composition and film music and complete with summa cum laude. During his studies, he was the youngest Berklee student who has ever composed a film score with a 80 - piece orchestra and grossed. He then moved to New York City, where he honed his craft among other things, under the composer Richard Danielpour at The Juilliard School. 2013 he composed the music for the sixth part of the Fast and Furious series. He replaced Brian Tyler, who composed the music for the three previous films.
