Lucey (Savoie)

Lucey is a town in the French department of Savoie in the Rhone -Alpes. Lucey is a member of the Association of Municipalities Communauté de communes de Yenne and is close to the Rhône on the slopes of the massif Montagne du Chat.

Economy and infrastructure

Lucey was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture, especially dairy farming and animal husbandry, embossed village. In addition, there are today some of the local small business enterprises. Lucey in the wine region of Savoie. White Wines ( locally called roussette ) from the grape Altesse may be marketed under the protected designation of origin roussette de Savoie or under the stricter appellation roussette de Savoie Mare position. For white wines, red wines and other grape varieties, the AOC Vin de Savoie applies.

Some of the working population commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work. Through a tunnel through the massif of the Montagne du chat connection to Chambery was much easier.

Population

With 281 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Lucey is one of the small communities of the department of Savoie. After the population declined sharply in the first half of the 20th century, a significant population increase has been recorded since the early 1970s again.
