Luch (watch)

Lozenges (White Russian Мінскі гадзіннікавы завод " Луч " / Menski hadsinnikawy zavod " Luch ", Russian Минский часовой завод Луч / Minski Tschassowoi zavod " Luch ", German: Minsk watch factory beam ) is a manufacturer of wristwatches from Minsk in Belarus. The product portfolio includes watches with quartz movements and those with mechanical movements.

History

The factory was founded in 1956 and produced in the first year 57,000 watches of the " Zarya ", in the first two years of existence, the company sold a total of 210,000 watches. 1963 Lolly started manufacturing of ladies brand watches " Vympel ", particularly in the UK enjoyed a certain popularity. From watches of this brand a total of 1,050,000 units worldwide were sold. In 1964 the Women's Watch " Luch -1300 " on the market. This was the smallest so far produced in the Soviet Union wristwatch.

Starting in 1973, the product range to watch for motor vehicles has been extended. The company suckable this was temporarily the only supplier of such watches for AvtoVAZ and their Lada. In 1979 the company expanded its production by electromechanical clocks and small radios.

The company currently has 150 offices in a total of about 7,000 employees. Are produced only 500,000 watches. The range includes 1005 different products. 60 % of products are exported, mainly to the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, the former Yugoslavia, Africa and Hong Kong.
