Luciano Galletti

Luciano Galletti Martin ( born April 9, 1980 in Mar del Plata ) is a former Argentine footballer. He had to end his career early for health reasons.

Galletti began his career at Estudiantes de La Plata, where his father Rubén Horacio Galletti already played in the seventies. In the 1999/2000 season he played for FC Parma and Napoli, but he could not prevail there, and returned to Estudiantes de La Plata. For the season 2001 /02 he moved to Real Zaragoza, with whom he 2004, the Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España won. After four years at Zaragoza, he moved to Atlético Madrid. There he remained for two years and then moved to Olympiakos Piraeus. With Olympiakos Piraeus he was in 2008 and 2009 respectively Greek champion and cup winner.

In the 2009/10 season he fell out due to illness. Shortly before the end of the season he announced that he will end his career on the advice of doctors at the age of 30 years.

Galletti debuted on 13 February 2002 in a friendly against Wales for the Argentine national soccer team. With Argentina Galletti took part in the Confederations Cup in 2005, where he came three times to use and took second place. In 1999, he won the U-20 South American Championship with the Argentina U -20 team and was there with nine -goal top scorer of the tournament. Even in the subsequent World Junior Championships 1999, he was part of the squad.
