Luciano Moggi

Luciano Moggi (* July 10, 1937 in Monticiano, Tuscany ) is an Italian football manager and players' agents.

As a manager of Juventus, he has been defined by the Italian media as the central figure of the Italian football scandal in 2006. In the wake of the scandal Moggi occurred on 16 May 2006 with immediate effect from his position as manager back at Juventus.

Luciano Moggi was before he got in the mid-1970s as a players' agent in the business of football, two decades of railway employee. Thanks to the employment by the state railway, he could very cheap travel by train. That he used to reach by train all possible places in the Lazio region and southern Tuscany to watch as many games of junior teams. His main interest was naturally talented players, which he then repeatedly observed and created a separate file for each player. Also, because of its nearly 40 - year career in football, he is considered one of the greatest football connoisseur at all.

Since the late 70s he was a manager of various Italian clubs, including AS Roma, Lazio Rome, Naples and Turin, the two clubs Juventus and AC, most recently in 1994 with Juventus.

Current Situation

In the first instance judgment in the fraud trial of 14 July 2006 Moggi was sentenced to five years of professional ban, as well he should be prosecuted. In June 2011, the Disciplinary Committee of the Italian Football Federation FIGC imposed a lifetime ban on Moggi, against this still appealed, but this application was rejected.
