Luciano Tesi

Luciano Tesi ( born December 10, 1931 in Monsummano Terme ) is an Italian astronomer. In the 1980s he founded the Gruppo della Montagna Astrofili Pistoiese, an association of amateur astronomers. In the 1990s, he initiated the building of the Osservatorio Astronomico della Montagna Pistoiese, whose leadership he took over after completion.

Tesi is the discoverer of currently ( Jan 2010) more than 200 asteroids, many of them along with Andrea Boattini.

The Amor asteroid ( 15817 ) Lucianotesi was named after him on 13 October 2000.
