Lucien Gaudin

Lucien Gaudin ( born September 27, 1886 in Arras, France, † September 23, 1934 ) was a French fencer, world champion and Olympic gold winner.

Gaudins athletic career lasted from 1903 until 1929. He is recognized as the best French fighter of the period before the Second World War. He won the only Nedo Nadi next date at the same Olympic Games, namely at the Summer Olympics in Amsterdam in 1928, two gold medals in singles, with Epee and Foil. He defeated the foil the German silver medalist Erwin Casmir with the help of cognac. After his athletic career, he took in 1934 due to financial problems of life.
