Lucien Smith

Lucien Smith ( born April 15, 1989 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American artist who lives and works in Tribeca in Manhattan.

Life

Smith studied at the New York art school Cooper Union, graduating in 2011 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts ( BFA ) from. He was highly regarded in the New York art scene in early 2014 and achieved at auctions there and in London awards for his works of more than £ 250,000 sterling, after they had been assessed before the auction with about £ 40,000 sterling.

Style and method of production

Smith used, among other found materials ( objets trouvé ) or detritus (waste ) and combines them with his pasty color jobs to collagen by type of Dadaism. Other works are reminiscent of those of Tachism.
