Lucius Aemilius Regillus

Lucius Aemilius Regillus was a Roman politician and military at the beginning of the 2nd century BC

As praetor in 190 BC he led during the Roman- Syrian War, the command of the naval forces of Rome and its allies. He defeated the Seleucid fleet in the decisive naval battle of Myonessos. As propraetor he celebrated the following year a Seetriumph ( Triumphus navalis ). He had a temple on the Campus Martius for the " sea - Laren " ( lares Permarini ) building, which was dedicated in 179 BC and was an inscription that Aemilius ' described success. An honorific inscription, perhaps together with a statue, it was also on Delos.
