Lucius Caecilius Metellus Calvus

Lucius Caecilius Metellus Calvus was in the year 142 BC, Consul of the Roman Republic.

Lucius Caecilius Metellus Calvus was probably a son of Quintus Caecilius Metellus. Calvus was 142 BC consul and perhaps 141 BC, proconsul in Cisalpine Gaul. In the period from 140/139 BC, he was with Scipio Aemilianus and Spurius Mummius ambassador to Egypt and Greece.

His sons were Lucius Caecilius Metellus and Quintus Caecilius Metellus Delmaticus Numidicus, both consuls were too. His daughter was Caecilia Metella, the mother of the famous Lucullus.
