Lucky Star (song)

Lucky Star is a song Madonna from 1984, which she wrote herself, and which was produced by Reggie Lucas. It appeared on her first album Madonna.

History

From 1982 to 1983 Madonna worked on her first album. However, they had initially not much material to fill the LP and had help. This song is one of those who wrote them alone. For promotional purposes permitted Madonna one of the producers, the DJ Mark Kamins to play the song in his club Danceteria, where he worked as a DJ. Originally the album after the song should be named, but for commercial reasons it was called after her. The song had to be released first before Holiday. At the time of extraction Holiday was then in the United States for a large Dancehit.

Music Video

In the music video Arthur Pierson led the Director. For inspiration, the video is modeled on the styles of Boy George, Cyndi Lauper and David Bowie. From the plot and design the video is quite simple - Madonna dances with two background dancers dressed in black against a white background.
