Lucy Hillebrand

Lucy Hillebrand ( born March 6, 1906 in Mainz, † 14 September 1997) was a German architect in Göttingen.

Life

Lucy Hillebrand studied 1922-1925 at the art school in Offenbach am Main ( Offenbach College of Design today ) and from 1925 to 1927 at the School of Applied Arts in Cologne with Dominic Böhm. From 1928 she had an office in Frankfurt am Main. In 1927, she became the youngest member of the Deutscher Werkbund and took 1932/1933 as the only woman at the second settlement project in Stuttgart. (German wood - Kochenhofsiedlung, under the direction of Richard Döcker ). After 1933, she worked for the House Bensen in Göttingen.

After 1945, Lucy Hillebrand sat in West Germany intensively with the school and Erziehungsbau.

In 1987 she was made an honorary member of the Association of German Architects.
