Lucy Webb Hayes

Lucy Ware Webb Hayes ( born August 28, 1831 in Chillicothe, Ohio, † June 25, 1889 in Fremont, Ohio) was the wife of U.S. President Rutherford B. Hayes and his time, the U.S. First Lady.

She studied at Ohio Wesleyan University and was the first First Lady, who received a doctorate from a college. She is considered one of the most popular First Ladies of the 19th century.
