Ludkovice

Ludkovice ( German Ludkowitz, formerly Lutkowitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north-west of Luhačovice and belongs to Okres Zlín.

Geography

Ludkovice is located in the southwest of Vizovice mountain country. The village is located creek below the mouth of the creek Březůvecký creek in the valley of Ludkovický. To the north rise the Obersky ( 483 m) and Čertův kámen (542 m ) in the north- east, the Brda (600 m), Baba ( 635 m), Komonec ( 672 m) and Větrník (432 m ) east of the Obora ( 386 m ), in the southwest of Kopec ( 337 m ) west of the Za Dvorem (410 m) and in the northwest of the Kamenec ( 394 m) and the Kamenná ( 483 m). History

The first written mention of the village has Lytkowicze 1412 as part of Eliska Světlovská von Sternberg associated rule Světlov. 1437 the site was designated as Litkowicz. In the power struggle between George of Podiebrad and Matthias Corvinus the castles Světlov and Engelberg, were destroyed. After the abolition of patrimonial Ludkowice formed in 1850 a municipality in the district administration and the judicial district of the Uherský Brod. From 1872, the town was referred to as Ludkovice and 1881 as Lidkovice. In 1910 a new school building was inaugurated. As of 1960, the village belonged to Okres Gottwaldov, the back bears the name Okres Zlín after the political changes since 1990. At the beginning of 1980 was Pradlisko umgemeindet Luhačovice after Ludkovice.
