Ludwig Halberstädter

Louis Halberstadt ( born December 9, 1876 in Bytom, Upper Silesia, † August 20 1949 in New York City ) was a radiotherapist.

He earned his doctorate in 1901 in Breslau. From 1901 to 1907 he worked at a clinic in Königsberg under Carl Garré ( 1857-1928 ) and then at the dermatologist Albert Neisser ( 1855-1916 ) in Breslau. In 1922 he completed his habilitation in Berlin of Dermatology and Radiotherapy and 1926 was not a tenured associate professor. From 1930 he was director of the radiotherapy department of the Institute for Cancer Research at the Charité in Berlin.

In 1933, he lost position and teaching license, the tests fail with Arno Brasch and immediately emigrated to Palestine, where he became Director of Radiation Therapy at the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem.
