Ludwig Heinrich von Jakob

Ludwig Heinrich von Jakob ( born February 26, 1759 in Wettin, † July 22, 1827 in Halle ad Saale in Lauchstaedt ) was a United States scientist, philosopher, economist, writer and correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences ( 1810).

He attended the Gymnasium in Halle since 1773 and studied since 1777 philology at the university there. In 1781 he was hired as a high school teacher in Halle. After the 1785 carried PhD and Habilitation Jacob was built in 1787 professor at the University of Halle, 1806 at Kharkov University. In 1809 he was a member of the Finance Committee and later responsible for the drafting of a " draft Criminal Code of the Russian Empire ". In 1816 he returned to Halle. His grave is located on the Halle Stadtgottesacker in the arc 61
