Ludwig Leinberger

Louis Leinberger ( born May 21, 1903 in Nuremberg, † March 3, 1943 in Bad Pyrmont ) was a German football player.

The midfielder started his career with TV 1846 Nuremberg and FC Bayern Nürnberg 07. About BV Solingen 98 he came to SpVgg Fürth, with whom he celebrated his greatest successes.

The " Habberer " as he was called, won in 1926 with his team the final of the German Cup against Hertha BSC 4-1.

The next German championship could Fürth 1929 again against Hertha, this time choose 3-2 for itself.

The iron- hard, tough and sometimes dogged Leinberger, who could shoot very good, but hard edges, was appointed a total of 24 times in the German national team, of which eleven times as captain. His career in this respect extended to the year 1927 until 1933.

At the end of his career, he then tied up again for the CfR Cologne football boots.

He died as a result of an appendix rupture.
