Ludwig Rosenfelder

Charles Louis Rosenfeld ( born July 18, 1813 in Breslau, Prussia, † April 18, 1881 in Königsberg ) was a German painter.

Life

Rose fields should learn the craft of watchmaking at the request of his parents, he then attended but from 1832 to 1836, the Berlin Academy and was a student of Wilhelm Hensel and William Ternites. After he started with a " Narcissus looking at his reflection in the water " and " Rienzi in jail at Avignon ", which were purchased by the city of Gdansk.

He received the Kunstverein Gdansk order for a painting " The liberation of Gdansk Reformer Pancras Klein from the hands of the bishops ." After the exhibition of this painting, he was appointed a full member of the Academy of Arts in Berlin. In his studio the Association of Berlin Artists was founded in 1841. In 1845 he became director of the Art Academy of Königsberg. He held until 1874 this office.
