Ludwig Schmidseder

Ludwig Schmidseder ( born August 24, 1904 in Passau, † June 21, 1971 in Munich) was a German composer, pianist, actor and television chef.

Life

Schmidseder broke in his youth from one intended by the father teaching as a banker. Secretly he took piano lessons. At the State Academy of Music in Munich, he deepened his knowledge of music and went to South America in 1926. He was drawn to Rio de Janeiro. There he washed dishes and initially appeared later as a solo entertainer. With two partners, he founded a trio of artists, which was traveling on ocean liners in the world. Schmidseder composed their own music providing entertainment for the team and became the original and virtuoso pianist.

From 1930 he worked in Berlin, composed film music, operettas and musicals created and set to music more than 500 songs that reached the status of popular hits partially. From the bar pianist ( until 1936 ) became Schmidseder the house composer at the old Berlin Metropol Theater, the libretto of all three here came the premiere pieces ( "Melody of the Night" - 1938, " The or No! " - 1939 "Women in the Metropol" - 1940) created Günther Schwenn. Schmid Eder's operetta "Die or Not! " Experienced more than 600 performances. The contemporary " German " names and related labeling of his stage works must be understood as " operetta " in this context as a typical Nazi jargon. Because of the instrumentation and the rapid 's recordings, such as the fast Foxtrot - from 1940 - " We dance through life! " (Dance orchestra Erhard Bauschke on gramophone and TO Kurt Widmann on Imperial ), which were carried out in typical swing orchestra, these are really, by today's standards, to be understood as musical and understand. Not least by the Nazi defamation of a large part of the German entertainment music as "degenerate music " and performance bans on some of the most famous operetta composer became the non-Jewish Schmidseder, amazingly, despite its not about listening " degenerate tendencies" - which are rooted in his music - one of the most sought-after entertainment composers. On 1 May 1933 he joined the Nazi party; Membership Number: 2879072.

Even after the Second World War composed Schmidseder more music and film music and now also appeared in feature films. End of the 1950s, the amateur chef has TV chef of the Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) - he was one of the first German television - and later wrote cookbooks.
