History

Fachhochschule Ludwigshafen am Rhein - School of Business

The Fachhochschule Ludwigshafen am Rhein - School of Business was founded in 1965 as the State Higher business school Ludwigshafen, Ludwigshafen Department as the 1971 part of the Fachhochschule Rheinland -Pfalz. 1976, and the amalgamation with the Department of Worms, which lasted until 1991. The Fachhochschule Ludwigshafen in 1996 independently. Worth mentioning here as milestone within the autonomy is the 2004, transition to Bachelor and Master degree programs.

Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Ludwigshafen

The Evangelische Fachhochschule Ludwigshafen was founded in 1948 as a Protestant school for church and community service, in 1964 in the Department of Social Professions - converted Higher Vocational School of Social Work and was since 1971 the university. The Evangelical Church withdrew in 2007 because of financial reasons from the Protestant University of Applied Sciences back.

In 2008, merged the two Ludwigshafen universities to new Fachhochschule Ludwigshafen am Rhein, which now covers the areas of Business Administration and Social and Health Services.

University of Ludwigshafen am Rhein

For 2012, the university bears the official name change to University of Ludwigshafen am Rhein the merger from the year 2008, which extends the portfolio, the increased research activity, and the social position of the type Fachhochschule account.

Research and Technology Transfer

Research, that is, the systematic acquisition of new knowledge is essential connected with the status of a university. Guideline for the design and development of university research are research priorities that are based on the competencies and profiles of university teachers, social needs, to the needs of the economy and the political priorities set and the resulting research funding. Based on a SWOT analysis, the Ludwigshafen University has under the HES initiative of Rhineland- Palatinate defines three main research areas:

This ranges from hands-on Bachelor and Master Theses to externally funded projects in research and development. For this purpose the transfer office of the University was founded in 2010.
