Luftwaffe Honor plate

The honor shell for superior combat performance of the Air Force was an award that was presented during the Second World War in the German Reich.

It was founded on 15 June 1942, the Reich Minister of Aviation and Commander in Chief of the Luftwaffe Hermann Göring for members of the Luftwaffe field units as a counterpart to the special cup of the flyers. About 50 shells were awarded; the exact number is not known. As of December 10, 1944, the award was not awarded.

The shell has a diameter of 280 mm and a weight of 408 grams. The upper tapes with the names of the award winners are engraved by hand.
