Lug, Germany

Lug is a municipality in the district of the West, in Rhineland -Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hauenstein. Before the local government reform (1969 ) Lug belonged to the district Bergzabern.

Geography

Lug is located in the southern Palatinate Forest, in the so-called Wasgau, a low mountain range, which is formed from the southern part of the Palatinate forest ( Rhineland -Palatinate ) and the northern part of the Vosges ( department of Bas -Rhin and Moselle). The distance to the French border and Alsace is about 15 km ( straight line ).

History
