Lug wrench

A lug wrench, wheel wrench or hub also called, is a hand tool that is used to loosen or tighten bolts and nuts. It is a special type of wrench, in which four different sizes are arranged in a cross. Cross Keys are often used for the replacement of wheels. Also, when mounting sanitation they are used frequently.

Size, shape and properties

The size of the cross key varies by type of preferred use. In general, these are between 35 × 35 × 70 cm to 70 cm. The shape is similar to two superimposed transverse socket wrenches that are welded together.

Most cross keys are either powder coated or chromed.

Wrench size

For passenger cars, the key size of 17, 19, 22 (rarely 21 ) mm are used for the truck lengths 24, 27 and 32 mm. Some manufacturers occupy the fourth position with a square nut for driving tools. Commonly used are then 1/2 " for cars and 3/4" for trucks.
