Lugano District

The district of Lugano (Italian Distretto di Lugano, former bailiwick Lauis ) is a subunit of the canton of Ticino in Switzerland.

Change in balance from 1803

Circles

  • With the Constitution of 1814, the county Riva San Vitale from the district of Lugano was reallocated to the district Mendrisio.
  • With the 1814 Constitution of the circle Sala was renamed in county Tesserete. New capital was Tesserete. By decree of 6 June 2000, the former district Tesserete was renamed in county Capriasca.
  • By decree of 8 November 2004, the district Pregassona was lifted. Reason is complete annexation of the district in the city of Lugano with the incorporation of 2003.
  • By decree of 27 June 2012, the district Carona in county Paradiso was renamed ( reason: Incorporation of Carona in the city of Lugano ).
  • With change in the law of 17 June 2013, the district Lugano Nord was re-established on 13 August 2013. The circle consists of the area of the circle by August 24, 2012 repealed Sonvico plus the area of Davesco -Soragno.
