Luge at the 1988 Winter Olympics

In the XV. 1988 Olympic Games in Calgary were held three competitions in the sport of luge. Venue was the Canada Olympic Parc. It dominated the teams from the FRG and the GDR.

The GDR 's women dominated the Olympic luge competitions since their initial discharge in 1964. Out of 21 medals were awarded, they could win 14 (1968 because they were heated runners disqualified ). For the third time (after Sapporo Sarajevo in 1972 and 1984) they were able to celebrate a triple victory in Calgary.
