Lugnet, Falun

Lugnet is a sports and leisure facility in the Swedish town of Falun, as well as a nature reserve.

The extensive grounds of the plant comprises the Reichsskistadion that Lugnet Hills, an ice rink ( Lugnets Isstadion ), an athletics stadium, an indoor tennis court and other sports halls, a swimming pool, as well as an indoor swimming pool and camping. The largest building is the Lugnethallen which the indoor swimming pool, a gymnasium and a sports center, and among other things, is also used for concerts, hosts.

Use of the land

Each year the Reichsskistadion ( Lugnets Riksskidstadion ) is a venue for cross-country skiing World Cup competitions. During Orienteering Championships 2012 here the Sprint and the season were played.

On the site of the Nordic World Ski Championships will be held in 2015.

Others

For the 100th anniversary of the Swedish Sports Federation in 2003, the Reichsskistadion was taken on the grounds Lugnet in the list of 100 Swedish sports historical sites.
